The video signal is passed from the camera, through the cable, and to your TV or VCR, which allows you to see the picture. All wired cameras must use RCA cable to connect the camera to the TV or VCR. A wireless camera does not need an RCA cable connected from the camera to the TV or VCR. The video signal is transmitted through the air to the receiver which is connected to a TV, VCR or PC. Do the wireless cameras and transmitters provide encryption? No, our wireless cameras and transmitters do not send encrypted audio/video. In order for somebody else to receive audio/video from your transmitter they will need to have a wireless receiver set to the same channel within range of the transmitter (500 ft. maximum). The chance of this happening is very rare. I have my wireless receiver plugged in to my TV or VCR and I do not have a picture. What do I do? First consult your TV or VCR manual. Then, make sure the video cable is plugged into the yellow video INPUT of your TV or VCR. Next make sure the transmitter and receiver are on the same channel. After this press the input or AUX button on your television or VCR remote. You may also have to scroll through channels on your television to get to AUX/input channel. If the receiver is connected to your VCR, make sure your TV is on the proper channel. You may also have to press a TV/VCR button. I bought a wireless camera but I still have to plug it in. How is this wireless? Wireless cameras do not have a video cable that runs from the camera to the recording device. Like all electronics they must still be powered in order to function. Battery packs may be used for situations where power is not available, although batteries will have to be changed frequently. I want a motion detection camera. What are my options? The cameras themselves do not record. In order to record only on motion, you need a motion detection DVR or PC based software solution. When power is applied, the cameras are always on and continually send the video feed through RCA cable (wired) or through the air (wireless) to your TV or video recording device. The motion activated DVR or software will allow you to record only when motion is present and saves you from having to view a lot of tape that is uneventful. What is Resolution and Lux? Resolution refers to the cameras ability to reproduce images. The higher the resolution, the more detail the picture will have. Lux refers to the amount of light that is needed for the camera to see. This becomes important if you need the cameras to see in low light. The lower the Lux, the better. How do I view or record the video? The receiver will connect to any TV, VCR, DVR, Computer, or Camcorder via the "video-in" port using the standard RCA cable provided. |
